Teen Counseling

Therapy is not for “crazy” people.

The truth is that therapy is for people that are interested in making something in their life better.   Everyone has things in their life that could be better.  Teens who come to therapy are often highly intelligent and are trying to solve problems.

In therapy, it is not the job of the therapist to tell you how to live your life. It is the job of the therapist to help you learn what really matters to you and help you find healthy ways to meet your goals.

It is the job of the therapist to point out if you are doing something unhealthy and help you find a better way.

If you have been through something very hard, it can be helpful to spend time with a therapist to help cope with the feelings.   If feelings get blocked or avoided, or become overwhelming, they can create all kinds of problems. Therapy helps you learn the power of your emotions and how to take care of yourself through any difficulty. Therapists are trained for every kind of difficulty you can imagine.  As a therapist, I help teens to strengthen their skills and abilities and learn some new skills to make life better.
